When was the last time you hired someone new?
When was the last time that you went through the new hire process with someone?
When was the last you told someone (anyone) all the cool stuff and awesome expectations of working for your company?
Seriously, if it's been a while since you participated in the new employee orientation process it is time to sit in on the next one.
Then again, why not review everything you are offering during the NEO, now?
First, make certain all documents are up to date. Then ensure that all policies are updated and don't have a date over two years old. This ensures that the new hires see a company that is on top of any situation and not one that gives the impression of patching things as they happen. Also, it gives you a chance to update and fine tune something you addressed a while back.
So, when you get a chance crack open the NEO packet and get to work before the next new hire comes in.
IMPORTANT: Be absolutely CERTAIN that all existing employees are notified of ANY and ALL changes made. Do not wait, DO IT IMMEDIATELY!!!
