June 1, 2012 begins the 2012 Hurricane Season.
Living in a Gulf Coast state: Texas, we, along with our neighbors all along the Gulf Coast and Eastern Seaboard take these next six months very seriously. As those in the Florida, Georgia, North & South Carolina recently found out storms (BERYL) can form rather quickly. This gets everyone thinking about what if that happens to me? What if I am caught in the middle of a hurricane? At the moment that you are given notice that the "weather computer models" say that the next hurricane is heading you way is not the time to figure out what to do.
Starting today and everyday from here on out get your plan together. Start off simple, make a list of what is important (documents) and you cannot start over someplace else without. Keep your vehicle's fuel tank FULL. Then go about adding and refining your plan.
It's never too late to start, the too late is never having started.
