Know Your Employees
Get to know your employees. Find out more about them than what they wrote on their job application. You won't know more about them until you learn more about them. The only way is to get out there and talk to them.
Be Candid but don't lose your professional cool.
You are the BOSS then be the BOSS.
Who knows, one or more of them might have skills that your organization may have a critical need for? You will never know if you never ask.
