Know Your Business Data

Do you know what customer/client/vendor/supplier and even employee data you have?
What inventory data you maintain? Any data?

Do you what information is your organization collecting? What are you doing with that information? 

Seriously, if you are not using the collected information for, at least, the Christmas Card list you are not using it at all.

Think about this: Throughout any given year just how much information does your organization collect? Megabytes? Gigabytes? Terabytes?

If you are not doing anything with that data you should consider tapping that data to get a better profile of your organization and current operations (such as):

     • number of customer/client interactions
     • turnaround time
     • who are your customers
     • what are the average type of requests/purchases
     • at least make a Christmas Card list

OF COURSE, NO MATTER WHAT THAT DATA IS YOU SHOULD DO EVERYTHING YOU AND YOUR ORGANIZATION CAN DO TO KEEP THAT DATA SAFE AND SECURE.

PROTECTING YOUR DATA IS NOT NEGOTIABLE.
