All Work and No Play.
There has to be some time to have a little fun. I know yesterday I talked about how it was not something any owner wanted and that was where the employees were ALL PLAY and no work.
However, the opposite is not good as well.
You and your staff have to take the time to have a little down time. Enjoy yourselves. Every once in a while have a little fun on the company but don't let it get out of hand. It helps break the monotony.
Remember, while it is important to have a fun on the job, it is equally important to not over do it.

50 Ways To Better Business: #33: All Play and No Work?
Does your staff give off the impression that all that they do is come to work to chit-chat and collect a pay check?
I recently was at a site and saw this happen first hand. Not all the staff was doing this but you could see a select few openly talking about something personal and nothing to do with business. In the background, moving like a very busy bee was the guy who's name was out on the company sign outside, the OWNER.
So who's to blame? The Employees? The Owner? or No One?
How about this: EVERYONE?
Yes, everyone because the boss has allowed it to happen and the employees continue to get away with it because the boss (and the office manager) have yet to put a stop to it.
Is this your workplace? Are your staff spending more time at the water-cooler than at their desks? If they are don't you think it's time to buckle down and get them back on track? After all, if they are not earning their pay then why have them around?

50 Ways To Better Business: #29: A Disorganized Working Space
Speaking of getting de-stressed.
Having an organized work place is by far one of the best ways to reduce stress in the workplace.
Remember that old saying, "Everything in its place and a place for every thing."
Well, it holds true in this case. By having a clutter free and organized workplace you automatically become better at what you do.
Don't believe me? Try it. Clean your desktop and get to work. There is something about a clean desk that motivates an individual to be just that much better.
Even when you start to re-clutter your desk you feel a little something in your gut telling you not to do it but you do it any way.
That's OK, take time every week to de-clutter your desktop and get re-organized again.
Remember, a disorganized working space can be cured and all it takes is you.

50 Ways To Better Business: #28: Do You De-Stress?
Do You De-stress At Work?
Some people have an almost violent physical reaction to stress. Others just seem to be at their best when stress is all around. Others just dread Monday morning because it means that for the next forty work hours there is nothing but stress.
No matter what STRESS can kill.
Whether you like it or not stress is NOT healthy. Some of us may kid ourselves and say that we don't bring the work stress home. Yeah, right who are you kidding? It comes right through the front door with you.
Do you know how to de-stress at work that way you can come home and not be worried on how to hide the day's stress from your loved ones?
You can start be by staying organized. Clean the top of your desk, Tuning out the annoying voices or interrupts, close your door, and especially let your co-workers know (in a tactful manner) that you will not be participating in office gossip, rumor mongering, but instead will focus on getting the day's assignments completed and checked off your to-do list. The latter leaves the individual feeling with a great sense of accomplishment and that alone is a great stress reliever.
Go ahead give it at try.
